Engineering Consultant. Engineering support for project management, material selection, tooling, and product failure evaluations. Specializing in new product development for plastic injection molded components and assemblies. Short and long term contract engineering services.
- Project manager for automation and cost reduction of a disposable endoscopic sheath.
- Project manager for completion of Phase III development (required 510K submission) of BPH disposable catheter system. Implemented process control for manufacturing processes, and trained/implemented process control at suppliers. Also transfer of production process from US to Mexico supplier.
- Project manager with a medical device development group. Responsible for completing development of production processes, including process capability studies for several medical device products and customers.
Project Management -- Custom injection molding, and assembly of plastic components for the healthcare industry. Provided internal and external engineering support for the design and development of new products. Total project responsibility for 15 external customers including design, tooling, assembly, and transfer to manufacturing. Managed the design, build, and transfer of more than $2 MM tooling to manufacturing.
- Responsible for training and developing molding process, as well as secondary operations. In house toolroom, pad printing, and all secondary operations as required.
- Helped implement Kaizan process to molding operation.
- Established statistical process control for all new tools being transferred to production.
Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Endosurgery. Support corporate needs for manufacturing plastic components for Endosurgical devices. Developed tooling and injection molding technology for proprietary bioabsorbable polymers. Implemented ISO 9000 documentation for all molded components.
